Manufacturing Process
We produce approx. 3,000 tonnes of very thin polypropylene film by a biaxial stretching process (so called BOPP Film) on 2 modern production machines.
A typical production process in our company includes the following steps:
- Extrusion
The special resins we use are melted in the extruder. This is effected by a heated worm and cylinder system; therefore it is a continual process.
- Production of the pre-film
The molten plastic is fed from the extruder to the nozzle. This nozzle distributes the film evenly on a cooling roll, on which the liquid polypropylene hardens.
- Stretching in machine-direction
In the machine direction stretching unit the pre-film is pulled in the machine direction. This is effected by fibre rolls with different speeds
- Orientation in cross-direction
The film is pulled in the cross-direction on the cross-direction stretching unit by a chain track system (clips and chains). Now the end thickness is reached and the finished film is reeled directly.
- Slitting of rolls
After a selective intermediate storage the film is ready for converting at the reel-slitting machines. The material is divided into different widths and roll diameters according to customers' requests.
