Production
The
production of biaxially oriented Polypropylene Film (BOPP-Film) was started in
Oberschmitten in 1980 as a compliment to the Capacitor Paper manufacture at the
same location. The constant extension of the film capacity and the expansion of
our customer oriented product range have been enabled by the strong
establishment of Kopafilm's products on the global market. Joint relationships
with our customers and suppliers have allowed flexible service to our worldwide
clientele. We are producing with Tenter-Process annually approximately 3,000
tons of the thinnest BOPP-Film, which is delivered to the worldwide electro
industry. Of this quantity, the export share is about 75%. The film is produced
on two modern Flat-Extrusion-Lines with similar structure and a machine trim of
3.50 m. Kopafilm's product line lies between 4 and 20 micron, with various
surface treatments. This film is used primarily for the production of miniaturized
Capacitors in the microelectronic field as well as for the manufacture of Low and
High Voltage Power Capacitors.
The high
purity and quality of our BOPP-Films guarantee low dielectric losses and high
breakdown strength. The isotactic share is > 95%, the film has no additives
other than the necessary stabilizer. The benefits thusly achieved are extremely
good electrical properties, high mechanical strength and the narrowest
thickness tolerances. Our product line puts us in a position to supply all of
the actual known needs of the BOPP-Film market completely from the thickness
requirements and the various different final applications.
